A Little Getaway!

In January Thad and I traveled abroad to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
This is something we've wanted to do since we got married - 30 years ago.
It was time!
We stayed at an all inclusive resort that was heaven on earth
with it's humid 80 degrees weather 24 hours a day.

Our room was less than 100 yards away from the ocean.
We enjoyed a short walk through palm trees to get there.

They had hours of entertainment in the evenings.

We played and walked on the beach and got sunburned.

But it was worth it.

We even  took a trip in the sky....hanging from a parachute.
It was so exhilarating, I think I'd like to try sky diving now!

And to top off the experience...
we had all we could eat of hundreds different types of foods for every meal.

One of the nice things about our trip was the people we met in Doterra.
They put on quite a week for us, sparing no expense for food.
Our first night there we ate BBQ lobster and all you can eat buffet of desserts.
Talks and breakout sessions were educational and inspirational.
Next year, it's CANCUN, MEXICO.

Flower Power

Thad and I took a quick drive down to Orem, racing the rain clouds, to deliver Kailey's furniture for her new apartment. While waiting for help to arrive, Erica and I took our camera's to Thanksgiving Point for a photo shoot of the tulips at the Tulip Festival. (Scroll to the bottom for pictures of me and Erica)

What an incredible display of beauty! There were so many varieties of flowers to be enjoyed, along with benches, rocks, rivers, trees, waterfalls, gardens, and arbors. Here are some of my favorite pictures:

I took over 250 pictures, captivated by the variety and the arrangements of color. I couldn't click my camera fast enough. Of course, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to take pictures of each other in such a beautiful park. Here are some of the head shots I took of Erica.

And some of the pictures she took of me:

What a beautiful way to spend the afternoon...with flowers and my daughter!
