Thanksgiving 2008

Our enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend was spent in American Fork with Erica and Jefferson. On Friday we started the morning at the Body Worlds Exhibit which we found incredible and fascinating. Our day also included a long wait in Salt Lake City for the sun to go down and the lights at temple square to be turned on! The boys were a challenge to keep entertained, but the girls enjoyed shopping at the Gateway Shopping Center. The picture below is a chapel on temple square that demonstrated the amazing illumination of the lights I wanted to capture. Thanks to Uncle Rick, who lent me his camera because I forgot mine at Erica's house, I was able to record this wonderful trip. And while Rick was there with us, he was kind enough to take our family picture too! Thanks Rick!
We are so grateful for our family!

"People Pictures"

My class assignment this week was to take pictures of people...which are the hardest for me. Thanks to my kids, and McKenna, they agreed to be my guinea pigs while I played with the settings on my camera. What do you know? I got lucky on some of the settings and got a few great pictures!! What do you think?

Happy Halloween

Caden and Parker have been counting down the days to the day they could collect candy! Caden was also very excited to put paint all over his face, including zombie blood and flesh! Yuck. He patiently let me get it just right before we left to go trunk or treating with our friends from church. Both boys went around the circle and collected all the candy they could before it was time to stalk the neighborhood.....I thought. Caden was hyper-aware of everyone looking at the fake scar on his face and couldn't wait to get home and take it off. He left with Thad and Parker and I had to go to the store first. By the time we arrived back home, Caden had showered and had removed all his zombie designs. Apparently the thought of having more people stare at him overrulled his desire for more candy. Parker and I went out and collected more from our friendly neighbors then he promptly showed Caden his candy and elaborated on how he wasn't going to share. Nice boys! You might be wondering where Kailey was during all this?? Of course, she had a trick-or-treating party with her girlfriends and was already out caroosing the suburbs of Nampa. She and her friends decided to dress up as "mean girls" with incredibly fashionable costumes; which to me looked like the way they dress every day. Kailey is very fashion conscience. However, her idea of fashion and mine differ just a little. Anyway, Halloween was short and fun and even warm this year. Thank goodness. We then came home and watched Sleepy Hollow for an hour.
